30. OLB Jabara Williams, Stephen F. Austin
HT: 6017
WT: 220
40: 4.59-4.62
CAREER SNAPSHOT: 2nd team All-American, 1st team All-Southland w/113 TT, 9.5 TFL, 2 SCK, 7 PBU, FR, 2 FF in 13 gms in '09. 1st team All-Southland w/132 TT, 6 TFL, 3 SCK, 3 INT, 2 PBU, 2 FF, 2 FR in 12 gms in '08. 58 TT, 3.5 TFL, 0.5 SCK, FR, FF in 10 gms, 2 starts in '07.
STRENGTHS: Good height. Runs very well in the 40 and plays with good speed. Very active. Plays sideline to sideline. Highly productive. Adequate vs. the run.
WEAKNESSES: Needs to bulk up being too small in the thighs, especially, as he is too small for inside linebacker. Misses too many tackles. Needs to improve in coverage.
ANALYSIS: Williams was a multi-sport star in high school but decided on football and it looks to have been a good move as a two-time first-team All-Southland selection. He lacks the bulk to play inside at the next level making him an outside linebacker only and fortunately for him he runs well making that a perfect fit. Despite having ideal tools for outside he needs a lot of work on technique, coverage, and he misses too many tackles. Williams is a possible late round selection but will need to show steady improvement this fall or else he will likely go undrafted.
JBS PROJECTION: Priority Free Agent.
NFL PROJECTION: Borderline Draftable.
