28. WR Dominique Johnson, Cal Poly
HT: 6031
WT: 229
40: 4.65-4.70
CAREER SNAPSHOT: 2nd team All-Great West w/43-741-17.2-6 rec in 10 gms, missed time w/shoulder injury in '09. Transferred from UCLA for '09. 34-373- in 12 gms in '08. 25-322-4- in 13 gms in '07. Medical redshirt w/ankle sprain in 1 gm and DNR in '06.
STRENGTHS: Great size. Vertical threat. Bid body. Willing blocker. Has long arms and legs. Good bulk. Adequate hands. Has the size and ball skills to be a possession receiver at the next level.
WEAKNESSES: Slow in and out of breaks. Doesn’t sustain his blocks. Not very sudden. Needs to continue improving as a route runner. Marginal speed and acceleration. Has had his share of injuries only playing full season healthy.
ANALYSIS: Johnson transferred from UCLA after getting hurt and falling behind on the depth. Despite that, he came to Cal Poly and flashed big play ability as a possession type receiver. He had just one highly productive game against South Dakota so he must get more consistent. If he can do that, stay healthy, and improve his speed then he has a shot to get drafted but if not will likely be a priority free agent.
JBS PROJECTION: Priority Free Agent.
NFL PROJECTION: Priority Free Agent.
