JBS TOP 40 PROSPECT COUNTDOWN
When you go to newsstands and pick up preseason magazines most of them rank the top 25 or top 40 teams but we have decided to countdown our top 40 small school prospects with a brief look at each player. Every day we will release a new player in our countdown. Enjoy!
27. CB Dionte’ Dinkins, Fort Valley State
HT: 6006
WT: 198
40: 4.49-4.53
CAREER SNAPSHOT: 2nd team All-SIAC w/29 TT, 0.5 TFL, 4 INT, 7 PBU, QBH, FR, BLK in '09. Academically ineligible in '06. Redshirted in '05.
STRENGTHS: Good size/speed measurables. Flashes talent shutting his side of the field down for most of the game. Has better athletic ability and speed than most players he faces. Good ball tracking skills. Adequate man and off man skills.
WEAKNESSES: Intelligence is brought into question due to previous problems with academic eligibility. Needs to get stronger. Raw technique. A little stiff. Rarely challenged likely making his transition tough at the next level. Needs to bulk up. Will give up the big play sometimes.
ANALYSIS: Dinkins has only been productive one year so far but flashed draftable talent last year. If he can improve his use of hands, overall technique, and become more consistent he has the measurables to move up the board this fall.
JBS PROJECTION: Priority Free Agent.
NFL PROJECTION: Borderline Draftable.
