SOUTHLAND
There are several solid free agents and two fringe draftable players in the SLC at this point worth keeping an eye on making this a solid class but still not as strong as they have had in previous years as the league has been somewhat on the decline as of late.
Central Arkansas
They have one solid free agent in DE #8 MARKELL CARTER (6037, 242) has good size but is stiff and lacks the skills to land in the draft at this point. His 4.9 40 time also hurts his draft stock as he will have to run 4.7s, at the very least, to be taken next April.
The other two are marginal prospects led by C/OG #57 AUSTIN EMERSON (6016, 283) moves well but is small and lacks the skills to make it. WR #11 WILLIE LANDERS (6014, 206) has good size but marginal speed and is coming off an injury.
McNeese State
They have one solid free agent and two marginal prospects led by TE #89 CORDAY CLARK (6007, 222) who will likely have to move to fullback but is not very fast for his size (4.7). He will need to run 4.65 or faster to get serious looks.
DE #80 TERRANCE FREEMAN (6033, 235) is a solid college player with production while ILB #48 DERON MINOR (6001, 231) is coming off an injury. Minor is undersized though and will need to improve his speed as well as show he is healthy this fall. Freeman flashes and is a player we believe is underrated by scoutsright now.
Northwestern State
They have two fringe prospects in OG #78 MICHAEL BOOKER (6026, 348) who needs to get in better shape and give more effort. DT #99 DENNIS CLARK (6004, 283) is undersized and has yet to produce. This fall will be heavily important for him.
Southeastern Louisiana
SELU often has a solid prospect but hasn’t had one recently but LT #77 KEVIN HUGHES (6035, 297) is a solid prospect with the body type and size of a guard who displays good footwork. He is a marginal draft prospect at this point.

Stephen F. Austin
OLB #49 JABARA WILLIAMS (6017, 220) needs to bulk up but is a productive kid who runs well worthy of a strong look as a priority free agent or possibly a late round pick. Williams is a two-time first-team All-Southland selection who has racked up 245 tackles in two seasons.
CB #6 ANDRE BANKS (6026, 213) has great size but is moving to free safety, a position he is more likely to play at the next level. Banks was one of the top newcomers in FCS last year and should have an even better year in 2010. Like Williams, he is a solid priority free agent.
