MURRAY STATE DE BECOMES SCHOOL’S ALL-TIME LEADER IN SACKS; CO-DEF POW

Senior DE #97 AUSTEN LANE (6062, 259) recorded two sacks against Austin Peay to becomes the school’s all-time leader with 29.  His 11 sacks this season rank second on the single-season list, only behind the 12 he tallied last season.  He also intercepted a pass and returned it 21 yards for a touchdown in the 27-17 win.  It was his first career pick in 41 career games.  He also tallied four tackles, one pass breakup, and one quarterback hurry.  This effort earned him OVC Co-Defensive Player Of the Week honors.  Lane now has 11 sacks on the season and ranks first nationally (1.22/game) in that category. His 1.89 tackles-for-loss per game ranks second nationally and his 0.33 fumbles recovered/game is 11th. Lane now was 29 sacks in his collegiate career.
