OG WILL RACKLEY, LEHIGH
JOURNAL 4– MARCH 2, 2011
Dear Journal,
My training has pretty much been non stop working on interviews and how to prepare my self for the Combine and drills but the week before we shut it down a little bit. Everything was light and wanted to keep the body fresh for Indy. I came back to Lehigh a couple days before Indy to get my head right and then went to Indy.
Those three days that people don’t see on TV were really long and drawn out. Luckily for me I didn’t have many injuries so my medical was basic. I had two x-rays on my back that linemen get and had my ankles x-rayed. That was it. The physicals by each team were drawn out so we did the same physical about 8 times and it took about eight hours. Luckily for me I wasn’t there that long because I haven’t had many injuries.
I measured in at 6’3 ¼, 309 pounds, my hand was 10 3/8, and arms were 33 ¼ or bigger. My wingspan was 79 inches. My bench was 29 reps. I didn’t feel too good about the running stuff. I will do it over at my pro day. I slipped on the short shuttle. It was only a 4.9. The 3-cone was a 7.9. I didn’t run the 40 because I tweaked my quad a little bit so my first step out of 40 stance I felt it the night before so I didn’t risk it flaring up. The broad jump was 8’3. The vertical was 23 ½. I usually jump around 27 or 28. I felt very comfortable with all of the football drills though. I thought they went really well.
I did really well on the interviews drawing up plays and learning the stuff they wanted to teach me and going over film. I had formal interviews with 13 teams. I met with the Seahawks, Giants, Texans, Cardinals, Bengals, Steelers, Saints, Dolphins, Jaguars, Titans, Eagles, Cowboys, and Vikings.
My pro day is March 17th. I will do the 40, 3-cone, vertical, and shuttles at my pro day.
I’m looking forward to re-doing the agility drills and getting the numbers I know I can get.
Talk to you after my pro day.
