WR JERMAINE SAFFOLD, MISSOURI STATE- Journal 1, January 25th, 2012

Dear Journal,

My name is Jermaine Saffold, I play WR at Missouri State, and I am in the 2012 draft class. My current height/weight measurement is 6'1" 196 lb. So far I've been working out with my strength and track coaches at Missouri State to prepare for my pro day in March. I feel comfortable with my guys here at Missouri State, and they really helped my former teammate Clay Harbor get his 40 time down going into the 2010 draft-- where he was drafted in the 4th round.

I've been lifting 4 times per week to get ready for pro day bench and overall strength. I've been working with my track coach on 40 dash technique, as well as the agility drills that I'll need to perform in march-- and I do overall speed training 2 times a week. The other thing I do on a daily basis is catch 200 balls, and run routes with my wide receiver coach. All around I've a lot of good workouts so far, and hope to continue the push right up until March.

In choosing an agent I wanted my parents to help me with the process, so that we could find someone that I feel comfortable with and that I know will represent me best. I ended up signing w/ Jordan Byrd, out of NYC, and so far he has really shown that he is willing to put in the work it takes to get a small schooler to the next level.

Overall, the process of training has been going real good I feel that I am getting bigger stronger and faster and hitting all the things that the scouts feel that I need work on so that teams can see that I’m coach-able and that I don't just work on stuff I’m already good at.

Talk to you in a few weeks.
